Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer disagrees with Jose Mourinho on Paul Pogba's captaincy potential |
With 13 strikes for the season Pogba is United's top scorer in all competitions, two ahead of Anthony Martial and three ahead of Marcus Rashford - the only other United players to have reached double figures this term.
Pogba has flourished under Solskjaer, scoring eight times and notching five assists in 10 games under the Norwegian.
United's interim manager has been delighted with the contributions made by Pogba, who struggled for form under Jose Mourinho, and speaking ahead of United's Champions League tie with Paris Saint-Germain Solskjaer pinpointed the midfielder's three best attributes.
"I've had a view of Man United over the last few years, of course, what I would've done if I was there, because you pretend you're the manager of Man United at times don't you," Solskjaer told BT Sport.
"Paul is one of the best attacking midfielders in the world. His physical presence, his aura, his personality. Of course, he's been a big plus for everyone."
Solskjaer is yet to lose a game as United boss but he knows PSG will pose a big threat to his unbeaten record at Old Trafford.
"Our form, our confidence going into this game is good," Solskjaer added. "The supporters' mood... the whole club is going into this game confident, but you can't be too excited because we're playing against a fantastic team.
"This is a big, big challenge and they (the players) have been very focused."
Does he want the United job full-time?
"Of course. Every manager in this world would want this job, so I'm not different to anyone else."
