MUNICH AIR DISASTER

​​Its the 61st year since 23 people lost their lives in the Munich air disaster.

One of the greatest teams to ever grace the game was tragically taken. 8 magnificent football players with the world at their feet and dreams in their hearts were amongst those that died along with 3 members of staff from Manchester United; 8 journalists and 4 others. These precious souls will never be forgotten by all at Manchester United and the wider football world. 

On February 6, 1958, a plane to Munich carried a team from Manchester for European Championship. With that team it carried the dreams of thousands of Man United fans of seeing their team become Champions. But the plane came crashing down, killing the team. Their dream. But not their desire. Not their passion. Not their hunger to be the Champions.  They didn’t give up. They rebuilt the entire club from scratch.

10 years later, they won the European Cup. And 60 years later, today, they are the biggest club in the world.
