Former Birmingham City and Manchester United midfielder Ravel Morrison has vowed to “rebuild” his career at Ostersunds - and revealed who he supports.

The 26-year-old is close to signing for the Swedish club after joining their training camp in Marbella.

Morrison was once considered the most talented young player at Old Trafford by Sir Alex Ferguson but has struggled to make a mark in the years since leaving United.

“I’ve come here to rebuild myself,” he told Ostersunds' website.

“I want to enjoy it and enjoy football again and win everything we can. It’s exciting and I’m really looking forward to everything that’s in front of me.

"We have got a decent team, it’s a decent setup and I have met all the group and it has been nice.”

Morrison, who spent last season on loan at Atlas in Mexico, is still under contract at Lazio, whom he joined in 2015.

That deal expires in the summer though and after scoring four goals in 25 appearances for the Liga MX side last term, he is already plotting his next move.

Morrison had two spells at Blues - the first under Lee Clark when he joined on loan from United.

He played some outstanding football in the 2012/2013 season scoring three times in 30 appearances.

However he returned to United and then moved on to West Ham and then Lazio.

He returned to Wast Hills in the summer of 2017 and took part in pre-season under Harry Redknapp but rarely looked like the player who was once the crown jewel in the United academy.
