The talkSPORT host shared that while he loved Leeds he believed it was wrong that the Whites manager had someone watch Derby County train (Source: BBC Sport ) ahead of the two side’s clashing in the Championship.

“I’ve got to say to you, I love Leeds United but I know a lot of Leeds fans will be on to me if I continue down this line though and I did their end of season dinner, 600 people there and they didn’t finish too high up so Leeds have this massive fanbase,” said White on
talkSPORT (Thursday February 7th,2019).

“But they’re wrong in this I think.

“Why would eleven Championship clubs got on to the league and Shaun Harvey and say you’ve got to do something about this, not having it, that’s what they’re thrashing it out in London right now.”

White then continued after the break to share that he did like Bielsa’s style especially when it came to how he handled the spy scandal.

“I still think it was wrong…but y’know what would constitute an appropriate punishment? I must admit I do like Marcelo Bielsa’s style, I mean are you kidding me? We’ve spied on every opponent all season, I’m a serial spy,” added the broadcaster.

OPINION

White’s verdict is bound to divide Leeds’ fans as while he admits he loves the club and heaps praise on them, he also borders on being outraged by the whole spy scandal that has circulated the club. With Leeds still waiting to find out their punishment, if they end up getting one, for the use of a spy, it seems pundits and those associated with football will continue to debate the issue. It’s interesting that White argues that with other Championship sides moaning about Leeds’ use of a spy and wanting them punished, that it alludes to the fact they’re guilty. However you feel that isn’t necessarily the case and that some of Leeds’ league rivals are pushing their luck due to the fact Bielsa’s side are competing at the top end of the table. At the end of day while White believes Leeds are in the wrong, they technically didn’t directly break any rules so why should the book be thrown at them? Also while White believes Leeds are wrong in this scenario, many supporters are bound to believe it is the broadcaster who is missing the point
